It was about 3.7 on the Richter scale.
To us it seemed that there had been a collision with a lorry. I didn't see anything move but himdownstairs did and so did my niece in Morecambe.
I know of 2 others which passed me by in years gone by and only knew of them as people asked me if the earth had moved for me!!
Anyway since then the weather has been quite cool. I thought it was getting warmer but I was wrong.

May 1st. Time is flying past for me now.
Son, wife and son have moved into their new home. Bless them, I hope they settle in well. Spent their first night in it last night.

There are jokes going around about the Swine 'Flu already. First symptoms, you come out in a rasher and feel pig sick. That is the first joke, there will be more!

Son just rung from new home... settled in and they have a long weekend to find stuff they have packed. His Missus on call and hopefully might not be too busy.

All the best peeps. x

It is dry today though. They say that March roars in like a Lion and goes out like a Lamb. I hope so. High winds frighten me, yes, ok, I AM a whimp.

I know that other places have had it a lot worse than we have. They have also had to put up with flooding.
I should just thank my lucky stars that, up to now, fingers crossed and all that touch wood stuff, things will begin to get better now.

Places, not surnames. I live in the city of Lancaster in Lancashire in good old England!
We have a castle and before TV, they hung people there.
Seriously, that was a very long time ago.

The Pendle Witches were tried at the castle.
Considering that Lancaster is the county town of Lancashire, it isn't really a very big city.

Used to be known as Mischief Night around here. Kids knocking on doors and running away, clothes props hidden or pinched. They are just the gentle things. Maybe the Trick or Treat thing is taking over now.
Tomorrow, it is Bonfire night. Treacle toffee, parkin, loud bangs and quite often, rain.

Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.

Guy / Guido Fawkes and his pals plotting to blow up the Houses Of Parliament. That was in 1605. They hung him and his mates in January 1606. So on top of the bonfire sits a Guy. Made with items of mens clothing and filled with paper or old material.

The fireworks frighten poor dogs and cats and I suppose other small animals. Fireworks can be dangerous too.In my day, oh yes, Bonfire Night was on the 5th November. Now it's any time you want it, there was one on Friday, one last night and some tonight. In fact there will be loads.

Sorry, forgot about the toffee apples!

April started off not good with the weather but now.... it's lovely.
Sun, warmth, lazing about, I love it. Even got a slight tan on arms & face. Better get the suncream out if it lasts.

Now May used to be a lovely month. I wonder if it is going to be wet then?
Not had many April showers up here in the Northwest of good old England.

Lancaster will be getting a few tourists, maybe a few came at Easter. Nearby Morecambe was busy today. Stalls that have been shut all winter have returned. Wonder what they do in the winter, the stall holders?

Sad to see my fave computer shop has closed. The owner was a very helpful gent.

Lancaster has had another lovely day! They say March roars in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. But that doesn't happen often.
I have a feeling that this weather won't last. Bet there is more wind and rain to come. Maybe snow too.

Day 6 in the no smoking thing has not gone well. I tried without the patch. Got really miserable. Stuck a patch on in the end. The lowest dose though. But it's nearly 7:30pm and I have managed not to have a cig.

I have read that nicotine is the hardest substance to give up. Now, I would have thought that other drugs and maybe drink would be harder. Luckily, I will never know.
I do know that I am feeling a bit depressed. Is that my age or is it the no smoking?

Take care out there.

Even got to sit in garden, out of the slight breeze and shed my outer garments, two sweaters.... and wore a tee shirt.
Might not happen again for a while but it was nice while it lasted.

It's after 10pm now and a bit chilly. Not the shivering type where you have to put on the heating and / or fire!

A & T are on holiday, they live in Australia and on the 1st March their autumn began.
But the photo today sent by A. shows the weather is still beautiful. The sea is blue. I admit to a twinge or two of envy!

Day 5 of no smoking nearly finished. Hope I can keep this up!

My boy said he was going to stop today. I wonder if he has? I hope so, if he does read this, I wish you all the best S. You can do it, especially if your old mum can! I blame myself for you taking up the habit. I mean, I couldn't say much could I?

Please watch this space!
