Not had any snow yet, I am happy about that! It's the last day of January, seen a lot of snowdrops out, daffs are popping up too. Crocus seen.

Well, seemed to make a mess of my Blog but now happy to say, got it back again. Good!

Not had a cig since last year. Come very close to it, many a time.

Work tomorrow, looking forward to that sooooo much.
(I do tell porkies don't I?)

Take care my friends, be good and happy. If you live over here or anywhere cold, keep warm and safe.

Well, it's all over until just under a year.

Son and granddaughter set off home just after dinner and should be there by now. It's so quiet now.
We still have enough food to feed a small army. It's a bit of a job eating what is left over by the "Best By" date.
There should be a Charity shop for food! I am sure that what we have would be very welcome by some. Makes me feel a bit guilty really.

Work rang yesterday, they wondered if I would go in that afternoon. I had a feeling they may have rung today too but I was safe. I did say that I wouldn't be available until the 3rd January.

The weather is not good but I am happy to say, and OK, I might be selfish, there isn't any snow or ice in our part of the world. Just a lot of wind and rain. Other places in the UK have had it a lot worse though. Poor souls.

Ok, hands up, who has broken their New Year's Resolution yet? I haven't, not that I am showing off, oh no. lol For those who haven't guessed what my resolution is, I will tell you when I have broken it or at the end of April, that is if I remember.

Take care and a Very Happy New Year. x

It has taken a while, but I have just realised, the clock at the top of my blog, is an hour out. I never put it back. It means, getting rid of it and putting another one in it's place. Maybe an easier way, not sure.
So it will stop and be the correct time, in G.B. in spring next year. lol

10/21/2006
Day one., nearly completed. Not been bad really, hope it continues to be like this!
Thanks to Sue for her encouragement, it does help. The girls at work were kinda proud of me too. Mind you, I think that they will kill me as I kept nattering on to them. Hope that wears off too. They said they didn't mind, but surely, they must!!!

Day One.

Had my last????? smoke last night. Patch is firmly in place.
I really hope it was my last one. It would be great. Please let it be my last one!
I think that after a day or two, maybe three, I will think that one won't harm. All the time, I know it will. SO, willpower, determination and anything else I can think of.

Giving up! Last ciggie eve.
I bought some nicotine patches today.
Hopefully, tomorrow I will start the hard job of giving up. I know some people have given up without much trouble. My last attempts have been dire. Must admit, it's been a while since I seriously tried.
I really hope I manage it this time. I need and want to do this.

Jamie O'Hara.
Anyone heard of this singer? He is really good. My favourite song is "50,000 Names Upon the Wall."
I looked this up on the Internet and yes, there is such a thing. It's in Washington.
All the Service people who were killed in the Vietnam War. Their names are there.
The songs says, that every year, families go, look for their loved ones names and leave presents, flowers, photos cigarettes and things.
The site I am looking at now says there's 59,000 names.
Such a waste. Some, well a lot, were only kids.
I really hate war.

Fave Films!
After entitling this bit of blog with Fave Films, I don't think I have an all time favourite one.
But I could watch Forrest Gump a few times as I love it, also Grease and ET. I always cry at the same point when watching ET. Goodness me, I am 62 and should know better!

The first one we took our boys to see, was, Bedknobs and Broomsticks. They loved it. Bless 'em.

I think the first one I saw had Frank Sinatra in it. That's all I remember.

Not bad weather!
Not bad weather lately, well, until the night anyway. Then I feel cold. But in the sun it is quite pleasant.
Our electric and gas bills have doubled.

There's all this talk of ladies wearing veils etc, well.............
I, personally, don't like talking to people who wear those sunglasses where you can't see their eyes. I just don't know why! I know it's different but I always find it a bit unnerving.

Elder son just gone home after a weekend visit.
It's our 41st wedding anniversary today. No romantic plans planned. No change there then!!! lol

Worked last night, 3 pm to 9 pm. Wot a difference from when I was last there. The work wasn't as hard. Nice when that haappens.
Nurses need a bit of a "rest." The ward was nearly full, just ended up with one empty bed I think. But the manual work, not as physical.

The Stinking Rose.

Has anyone been to the Stinking Rose? It's in San Francisco.
If you like garlic, it's the place to go! Garlic, garlic and even more garlic. Can even get garlic ice cream. I wasn't brave enough.
I did have a garlic boiled sweet. lemon I think it was. Nice!
In my bag, there is a strawberry garlic sweet.
Memories of June.
If I ever got to go there again,(pigs might fly,) I would revisit.
Mr Dracula certainly won't be dining there I can tell you that.

Weather.
Not happy again, woken up, (too early for me) by the crashing of thunder. Don't think we have had any thunder and lightening all summer.
At one time, it seemed overhead. Now it's raining dogs and cats, or is it cats and dogs?
Wotever, it's wet stuff. lol
Got to go shopping later. Will get drenched, catch cold, get 'flu and suffer.
('Flu jab not being done until the 9th Nov.)

Dear Niece,
As I haven't worked for about a fortnight, I am afraid I cannot take you to the USA to see Barbra in concert.
Please ask me again when I have a couple of shifts under my belt. Us nurses are not that well paid.
Yes, I do luv ya, I would like to take you as an early Christmas present. But would a day in Blackpool do at the moment? Better still, Morecambe!? Can use my free bus pass then.
Take care niece of mine,
luv from aunty.

If music be the food............I would be fat!
I quite like all music but my favourites are ones I can sing along with. I say sing, luckily you have not heard me!
I am very partial to C & W. That would be chocolate cake and coffee. Bliss.
Fish 'n' chips, would be R & R.
Operatic songs, (some.) That would be expensive chocolate!
Punk and Heavy Metal, I don't know. Pizza? Nah, not sure about that

I have just, over the last few days, noticed that the text on my Blog has gone smaller. Not when I writing this, but when I look at the Blog itself. Now why is this? What, if anything, can I do to make it bigger? It looks quite hard to read at the moment. Dear Blogspirit, is it because I have written a lot? No one elses Blog has gone like that. So is it my fault?
Answers on a postcard please. Thank you.
